stalled

Spring break has come to a sudden end. Or at least it seemed sudden. I'm not really sure where the 2 weeks went but they disappeared quicker than I thought they would.

I got next to no sewing done. I did finish up this Farmhouse quilt.

This was a kit I purchased from FatQuarter Shop. It's super cute but I don't like how it went together. Every single triangle top was whacked off. There was no way around it when put the quilt together.

I did some spring cleaning and made a big decision.

This is a Double Wedding Ring quilt that is at least 16years old. I decided to gift it to a thrift store. I will never finish it, it matches nothing in my house and I do not want it anymore. It can be someone else's treasure now.

I did end up with a 3week break from work. A very unexpected break from work.
On the 8th, my quilting machine broke down. As in, it wouldn't turn on break down. So we called the factory and ordered some parts. 2.5 weeks later(was supposed to be in 3days), my parts finally arrived. Over Easter weekend, hubby and I repaired my machine.

Good news; it runs and I can quilt. Bad news, it's not running 100%. I'll be shipping it back to the factory in April for a full refurbishment. Until than, I'll be catching up on a my unplanned 3 week break!

We started Spring Break off a wee bit early and went to Calgary over the weekend for my nephew's baptism.
Boy3 is down in Mexico with some of our youth group, so we are hanging around the house and just enjoying each other.

If it's Spring Break where you are, enjoy! And I'll be back after Easter :)

This and that

I haven't kept up with sharing client quilts later, here's a few recent ones.

Minis

Haven't had bunches of time to spend in my sewing room lately so mini projects have become a favorite.

I made a letter E for my sister in law awhile back, she asked if I could do 2 J's, one for my brother and one for my nephew.

I keep seeing Pineapple quilts popping up on Instagram and I couldn't hold off any longer. So one evening I made this.

Super cute if I may say so!

I wanted to say thank you for all the emails and comments regarding Boy4s injury. He's hanging in there; his wrist is almost back to normal which frees him(and me!!) more than we had hoped. He goes in later this week to get clearance on his concussion and to make sure the break is healing well. Because of where the break is, he has a removable cast and has to do arm exercises twice a day which truly suck. But he is being a real trooper! Spring break starts next week which will help too.

Happy Tuesday!

quilt monday

The last bit of my First Crush fabric and again, inspired by Instagram.

I used a charm pack and a bit of yardage I had leftover from my last project

I love this layout, even if it took longer to lay it out than to sew the HSTs together lol.

I wanted to keep the quilting Valentine themed again so I went with a simple heart panto, Folk Heart.

And the font print for binding? Love it.

Thanks for reading!
