quilt monday

We closed up our trailer for the winter the other day

and I realized I hadn't shared my modern maples quilt.

I wanted to find a fun place to take the pictures and a fun place was found.

I had help with this quilt from my TrueNorthBee members in 2019.
I originally wanted just fall colours but I quickly became addicted to making blocks and all fabrics became fair game.

I wanted to keep the quilting woody so I used the panto Kindling.
I think it was the perfect choice.

One of my favourites

No surprise I backed it with my favourite flannel backing.
And I had just enough of an olive/sage green in my stash for the binding.

These blocks go together ridiculously quickly. I've been thinking of making another for our bed with a dark background.
Interested in making your own? You can find the block instructions here.

Happy Monday.

play time

I've been keeping busy

Making some great progress on my Winterville quilt.

A few more TrueNorth bee blocks.

This first batch was a fun one.

And started on something new that I am REALLY excited about.

odds and ends

I've debated continuing posting with how crazy our world is currently. But I want to try and keep things as normal as possible, well, as close to normal as possible.

I have gotten quite a bit of quilting done lately.

I got all caught up on my TrueNorth bee blocks.

Made a little runner with some leftover hsts.

And finished a really special not so little something.

What have you finished lately?

busy bee

I've been super productive lately in my sewing room.

Caught up on October and November TrueNorth blocks.

Received a few more blocks for my quilt.

I also found this fabric and could not resist making it into a leaf.

I finished up a special something.

And have an idea for something else.

quilt monday

I showed my TrueNorth quilt last week and
I could not hold off on quilting it up any longer.

I am absolutely thrilled with how it turned out.

This is the Ribbon Star Variation block.

There were a few blocks that were too small and/or ivory was used instead of white, so I pieced them into the backing.

I was always against pieced backings but now with the cost of fabric, piece all the quilt backs!

I kept the quilting simple and think it turned out well.

quilted with Simplicity
I had just enough of the polka dots for the binding.

And ended up with a wee hijacker during our photo shoot.
eek

Happy Monday.

bee blocks

I played catch up on our true north bee blocks.
These are going to be some pretty fantastic quilts.

And I got my true north quilt together!
Can't wait to get this quilted; it turned out so good.

And because I could, I signed up for another bee round!

mail day

Yay for more blocks for my Ribbon Star quilt.

I'm waiting for a few more blocks then I can get on putting this together :)

bits and pieces

This month is my month for the TrueNorth bee.
I chose what is apparently a difficult block, a Ribbon Star variation block.

But look how pretty it is!

I still have more than half the blocks to come in and
I am eagerly waiting the mail delivery every day lol

I also got this finished up.

Another JellyBean quilt, this one done correctly.
Funny story behind this. We redid our bedroom and I made this for our wall. And ended up not even using it lol.

And some TrueNorth blocks for someone else!

playtime

I've been better at managing my time lately and have been sneaking in some sewing time here and there. Here's a few work in progresses.

I love, love, love how this turned out.
You can't go wrong with a plus quilt.

I got caught up on my TrueNorth bee blocks.

And made a table runner for a friend's birthday.

I was sneaky and made it using her favourite block.

Now to get it quilted!

snow days

We had a holiday yesterday. I had all these quiltie plans in mind. And instead, I got zero sewing done. Absolutely nothing. Good thing I got some things finished up during the snow days we had last week. And did I mention it is still snowing? Love it!

I finished up this kit from Christmas.

Looking forward to snuggling under it this coming Christmas.

I got caught up on my TrueNorth blocks.

I was a wee bit behind again lol.

And I started something new.

Bring on more snow days!
