christmas in july

 You read that right!

All our Christmas fabric arrived last week and the lines are even prettier in person.

Mostly Riley Blake Christmas lines but there is something for everyone.

What is funner than Christmas in July? How about having the fabrics priced at $15/m? And that is Canadian funds so it's pretty much free for all my American readers :)

You can find the fabrics listed here ready and waiting for you.

Happy shopping and Merry Christmas!

quilt monday

 How fun is this?

Sign up for The Blanket Statements newsletter and get this pattern for free.

Pretty sure it took me longer to pick the fabrics than it did to piece and quilt this.

I used my favourite print from the Nonna fabric line(it's currently on sale in the shop here).

I kept the quilting super simple and went with a stipple for the quilting.
I didn't want anything to take away from the quilt.

I did go with a boring muslin for the backing lol.

But used another Nonna print for the binding.
I adore that caramel print!

And now it great customers when they arrive at the shop :)

Happy Monday!

deadlines

 Well, it's July 5th.

I had a deadline for finishing 4 specific quilts by July 1st.

Here's how I did.

Quilt number 1 was a grad quilt.

I used the Rockwood pattern by The Blanket Statement.
It went together so incredibly quickly!

Next up was the quilt I posted yesterday.

The next quilt was the sweetest baby quilt.

I got the pattern from a kit and it went together so quickly that I made kit quilt too.

You'll notice I made the green version bigger. I prefer larger baby quilts so I added a top/bottom border on that version. There wasn't enough fabric in the kit to do the same.

As for the last quilt, it was a no go :(
I would like to say I've at least started it but I got distracted.

quilt monday

When one in your circle turns 50, they get a quilt.

This is the Swell pattern by Thimbleblossom using Folktale by Lella Boutique.
I think the two together is pretty perfect.

I had saved a jelly roll and some yardage of the green floral. I knew it would come into handy sooner or later.

I had just enough of the floral for the border. Like I had 6 inches x WOF left over.
When I purchased the fabric, I didn't know what pattern I would be making with it so I guess on the border requirements.

I used one of my favourite pantographs. It's an old one now but still so good.

quilted with Funky Fleur de Lys

The backing is new, now available in the shop.
Have you visited the shop yet?

Perfection!

Happy Monday :)
