Christmas part 2

we celebrated Christmas today with Jim's mom's side of the family today. met at a restaurant and had a great lunch and visited. all of Jim's grandparents and aunts/uncles/cousins live in Washington State and we don't get down to visit as often as we should!

i ran this quilt panel through my machine yesterday using the pattern Happy Times. i did two of them; one for Jim's mom and one for his grandma

FINISHED!

my last customer quilt today! woooo hooooooo! good thing too as we ran out of batting, on all THREE rolls!
i seriously LOVE this quilt! my mom did a larger quilt with these blocks for this customer earlier this year. these were her extras.

i used the quilting pattern Whirlygig and a rainbow thread. just gorgeous!

Christmas projects

i'm desperately trying to get them done as Christmas is just around the corner now lol!

this pattern is actually for pot holders but i'm making it into a wallhanging for B as he LOVES fishes. hope to get at least the top completed Monday

2 down, 1 to go!

finished these on Saturday.

one is quilted with Angel Wings pattern and the other with Butterfly Kisses

new great site for

cardmakers and scrapbookers Sheetload of Cards check it out!

i surrender!

for almost two weeks now, we've had a stomach bug slowly working its way through our household. J got it first, than M, than A. Jim came down with it this week while away in Washington DC. i was just keeping my fingers crossed(and really really clean!) that it would pass by me and B.

no such luck. B woke up this morning with it. and with that, i made a really really hard desicion. Jim and i had tickets for Bon Jovi's Vancouver concert tomorrow night. i've waited 10yrs to see him and will be waiting a few more years now. i just can't take the risk of having B and/or Jim still sick tomorrow. or even worse, have me get it tomorrow or at the concert(how embarrassing would that be? lol)

course now Murphy's Law will kick in. now that i sold the tickets, i won't get sick at all right? lol

card friday

more great mail

i love this time of year

when i get a mailbox full of wonderful cards! i joined a Christmas card exchange again this year and here are a few of the cards i've received so far

are you ready for this?

seriously ready? because it's going to be a shock!

guess what i did tonight???

i........

QUILTED!!!! yes, you read that right! with my Christmas cards all completed, i can finally get some quilting of my own done. and good thing too since i have 3 Christmas projects i haven't even started yet lol!

this is another Moda Chocolat charm square quilt(the border is their Roman Holiday line). i did something different this time, i actually measured the quilt before putting the borders on. i am famous for full borders(as a long-armer i should know better lol!) and i was surprised(really i was) at how easy it was. in my mind, it's more trouble to cut a border sew it on that have to trim the ends than measuring before hand.

so this is done. no, it's not a Christmas present. i have no idea where or what i will do with this since i made another charm square quilt last month for the wall above our bed. i haven't machine quilted that one yet either lol!!

mean people suck

we discovered Saturday morning that sometime Friday night, someone(and had to be more than one someone) stole our 4 spiral Christmas trees(one being 6ft tall) and lit moose from our front yard :(

quilt monday

i love ragged quilts and yet i've only done this one. i keep saying i'll add to it, it needs one more row to cover my feet when i'm watching TV lol.

mom's sewing machine has all these fantastic embroidery stitches and that's what i used in the center of each block

how cute are these?

found them at JoAnne's last weekend. this one is full of mint candies. i got a scrapbooking one for my sister in law

there are no words

i know what to say. a special blogging friend of mine lost her baby on Thursday. my heart breaks for her and her family. i keep checking back at her site hoping it's some horrible horrible joke but its not.

coaster fun

had a craft night at church the other night where we were making these coaster hangings that i saw on Emily's blog, Stamping and Stuff

we were looking for a few door prizes and i made these calendars up quickly(so quickly if you look close you can see how unevenly i cut the calendar pages. i put magnets on the back so you can hang them
