quilt shows

Had the first two quilt shows for 2024.

The first one was the Boundary Bay Quilt Guild show.

And the next weekend, we were at the Langley Quilters Guild show.

Next up, you'll find us in Parksville!

confession time

I see a lot of custom quilts for longarming. And I haven't been keeping the greatest record of the pictures I take of quilts. As a result, I have SO MANY pictures of quilts that I have no idea of who quilted what.

So I'm going to be posting some of those quilts. And if one is yours or you recognize someone's work, please let me know so I can credit them.

Enjoy the show and tell!

Who doesn't love a good sampler quilt?

The colours in this are so calming.

quilted with a meander

I love the colours in this one.

quilted with Contempo

If memory serves me right, this cutie was pieced by Melody.

quilted with Floral Meander

I think her aunt had embroidered these blocks years ago and Melody worked them into the quilt.

I think Maxine pieced this one.
I love when the quilting jazzes up a simple quilt.

quilted with Contempo

I know Faye pieced these next two.

quilted with a meander.

They were graduation quilts for her nieces.

quilted with a meander

I love this one by Carrie.

quilted with Malachite

The backing was minky and the texture was fantastic!

A fun Dr Suess quilt by Brenda

quilted with Ground Cover

Super cute!

Also by Brenda, this soothing green quilt.

quilted with Greenery

So striking.

And this stunner

quilted with Figure 8

Amazing.

The backing was perfection.

Loved this one.

quilt show

This past weekend kicked off the start of the quilt show season for us. I was a vendor at the Boundary Bay Quilt Guild's show.

Here's how we set up the booth.

quilt monday

With being in eight(!!) quilt shows this year, I've been working hard behind the scenes to make new store samples.

This quilt I've now made a few times(one was a Christmas version). This version came about as I as moving some fabrics around and inspiration struck.

quilted with Contempo

This is the Bird's Hill quilt by The Blanket Statement. I was inspired by the Kona's. These are the Kona colour of the year fabrics for 2021, 2022 and 2023 and I think they work perfectly together.

It's funny how in the pictures you can't see that the background is a low volume white.

I somehow ended up with 3 extra blocks and meant to piece them into the backing.
In my excitement to get the quilt quilted, I completely forgot about them.

I think my favourite part of this entire quilt is the striped binding.

It's the perfect finishing touch.

If you are interested, I do still have some kits available for this quilt. You can find them here or if you are just interested in the pattern, that is available here.

Happy Monday!

it's time!

Our first quilt show of the year is this Saturday and Sunday.

So if you are local, come on out and say hi!
