starts

I say it every summer but mean it more this summer. Where has summer gone? Here we are mid August and I've done zero sewing. Zero. And my summer sewing list wasn't even a hard one.

I did manage to make this cute baby quilt featuring Riley Blake's Little Things line and some coordinating Dear Stella prints.

And I whipped up this Grand Beach quilt in a throw size.

We have this kit in a smaller size and it is our most popular quilt kit.
Want one of your own? You can find them here.

And I finally got this quilt finished up. I started this last summer and I didn't like it once I pieced the blocks so it sat for the past year waiting for me to put the top together.

I'll admit I only did so I could clear it off my table and give it away.

And now that it's together, I really, really like it!

finishes

Here we are almost the end of the second month of 2024 and I haven't even shown you my last few finishes of 2023.

I had the fabrics cut for this table runner and just ran out of time to finish it before Christmas.

Instead of putting it away for next year, I decided to just finish it up. Of course it literally took me less than an hour to make up. That's the way it usually goes right?

The pattern is the Landmark quilt and I used the fabric line, Retro HoHo for the blocks.

Next up was a simple Christmas themed chevron. The pieces for this were all rejected pieces from another quilt I was working on.

I quickly had these tops pieces so I turned my attention to a quilt I had cut out in I believe August.
I sewed the blocks together in September and I spent the next few months moving them out of the way on my cutting table as I made up other quilts.

Well, December 27th was the day this quilt I was finally being put together.
I spent all day December 27th AND the 28th and like magic, but not really, a quilt top was born.

This is the Plus and Minus quilt pattern from Quilty Love and I used one of my favourite fabric lines, Moonstone.
We still have some fabrics left in this line and it's on clearance so check out the link!

I can not wait to get this quilt quilted and on my bed!

But before that, will this be my first finish for 2024?

Stay tuned!

busy as a bee

I have had a burst of creativity, or is it sewing time, and have been extra productive so I have lots to show you.

First up, a Diamond Ripples quilt.

I can not get enough of this!!

Kits will be available in the shop in the next few days .
And I'm already working on a spring version.

This was a fun make.

I started another something.

And my most favourite make that I am working on.
I can not  get enough of this quilt.
This is the third one I've made.

Hopefully this weekend I can make some of these into finishes!

sew good

I've been working hard on getting caught up, or actually, stay caught up on my yearly sewing list. Do you do a list every year? I usually do one for January to July, the summer, then Christmas projects from September until the end. I try to make the summer projects all strictly quilts for me.

With that said, here's a few recent projects I've been working on.

I made up this cutie using the Wilshire Weld(currently on sale in the shop, check it out here). The pattern is Bird's Hill by The Blanket Statement. We happen to have the paper patterns available as well here.

I've made a few of Erin's patterns now and this one might be my favourite. It's a very quick make and was fun to do.

Next up, another one of these fun HST quilts.

I had cut this one all out and realized I didn't like how dark the solid was with the prints. So  I did another with Kona bone. I had the blocks all sewn together for this so it came together fairly quickly.

This one is a free pattern by DearStella.
You can find it here.

This seems to be my go to boy themed colour scheme now and I'm all here for it.
Again, this was another quick project and I am looking forward to making this pattern again and again.

I also finished up this Vintage Lace quilt.
320 2.5inch hsts. It felt like they took forever.

By the way, meet Goose. She's my shadow :)

And because I can't not be working on a project,

Let me know what you're working on in the comments!

all the things

I had a super productive weekend.

I actually made some cards. First time since probably summer this happened. It was so nice to get back to it again.

I made a up a bunch of new FQ bundles.
You can find them here if you are interested.

And I made this quilt. No pattern, just some of my favourite prints and boom.
A quilt top.

Hope your weekend was a good one too!

busy bee

I've been keeping myself busy with some new projects.

You knew baby quilts would be top of the list lol.

I used Riley Blakes Little Things line. It is adorable.

A Grand Beach quilt by Blanket Statement.

I made a bundle up inspired by this quilt.
If you are interested, you can find Rosette here.

And another pattern by the Blanket Statement.
This is a free pattern if you sign up for the newsletters.

Old Market Square quilt.

Shockingly, another baby quilt lol.

And because I haven't shown you the finished version, here is the other Christmas quilt I made. This is the Star Pop quilt by Quilty Love.

Stay tuned!

quilts, quilts and more quilts

I've been busy, busy quilting.

Now to find to quilt them up!

First up, this quilt for my nephew.

I used a FQ bundle of Grunge dots and the Plus Minus quilt by Quilty Love.

Two special quilts for Rising Mama Collective.

Made up the latest free quilt from The Blanket Statement.

And started a Christmas quilt that took waaaaaay too long to get to just this small section.

What are you working on?

long weekends

We were supposed to be away for the long weekend but plans changed and I'm not unhappy about it.

We spent some time outside and more importantly, I got to spend a whole bunch of time with my sewing machine.

I finished up some projects.

Started some new things.

Finished some other things.

And started more things!

this and thats

I'm trying to sneak in some sewing while still soaking up every moment of our summer.

Most days the outside wins more than my sewing machine does :)

I did up this adorable baby quilt as a shop sample.

I adore this Riley Blake alpaca fabric.

And used up a bunch of scraps for this one.

Made a quick table runner for a friend.

And pulled a new quilt for me.

deadlines

 Well, it's July 5th.

I had a deadline for finishing 4 specific quilts by July 1st.

Here's how I did.

Quilt number 1 was a grad quilt.

I used the Rockwood pattern by The Blanket Statement.
It went together so incredibly quickly!

Next up was the quilt I posted yesterday.

The next quilt was the sweetest baby quilt.

I got the pattern from a kit and it went together so quickly that I made kit quilt too.

You'll notice I made the green version bigger. I prefer larger baby quilts so I added a top/bottom border on that version. There wasn't enough fabric in the kit to do the same.

As for the last quilt, it was a no go :(
I would like to say I've at least started it but I got distracted.

diversion

I got sidetracked.
But I think it was worth it.

The moment I saw this pattern, I knew I had to make one.

The pattern is a free one from kmnquiltco on instagram.

And I've gotten a good start on project number 2 before July 1st.

I'm excited how this is turning out; it's a fun pattern and goes together fairly quickly.

What are you working on?

slowly but surely

I'm making my way through my list of quilts to finish.

1 month almost done and I completed one quilt top.

The pattern is Swell by Thimbleblossom. Such a quick, fun make.
The fabric is Folktale.

I also decided on a pattern for my second project and I'm pretty excited how this one is going to turn out.

I'm hoping to get it cut out tonight and fingers crossed, assembled this weekend.

And of course when you have a bunch of deadlines, you should always jump at the change for a super fun quilt.

Isn't it great?
It's a free pattern from Erin at The Blanket Statement for signing up to her newsletter.
I'm pretty sure it took me longer to pick the fabrics than it did to actually make the top.

Hopefully next week I have another finished quilt top to show you!
Because waiting for me is project #3.

progress

I made a list May 1st of what quilts I needed to complete by July 1st.

The list isn't very long, only 4 quilts ranging from a baby to a double size.

But this is as far as I have gotten on quilt 1.

Stay tuned!
