quilt monday

I saw this fabric last year and I knew exactly the pattern the fabric was perfect for

My favourite pattern, LittleMan.

How cute did this turn out?

quilted with Malachite

The one thing I don't like about this quilt? The fabric, as lovely as it is.
The solids are by Art Gallery and I just don't like the feel of them.
I know I am in the minority on that!

That tree print though.

I pieced the backing similar to the quilt top for some fun.

Time for another one!

Happy Monday

sew little time

 sew many quilts!

It seemed like I 'added to cart' more in 2020 than I made quilts.

So this year my goal was to make the quilts I had planned in 2020.

And not get distracted.

I bought a fun FQ stack in June 2020.

And on our last camping trip, I finally got the quilts made.

I had enough FQ in this bundle to make 3 quilts using my favourite pattern, LittleMan from the book Simplify by Camille.

I made up all the blocks and then just grabbed whatever to make the quilt tops.
Easy peasy.

I love how quickly these quilts make up. Almost instant gratification.

But then I got distracted.

quilt monday

Our flowergirl from our wedding had a baby.
If that didn't make me feel old lol.
She lives on a farm and when I saw this fabric line, I knew it was perfect for her.

I kept it simple and went with a disappearing 9patch.
The fabrics are just adorable.

Sorry the pictures aren't clearer.
It's been so smokey here it was difficult to get pictures.

I wish I had more of this backing, it's so cute.

I used my favourite grunge for binding.
A perfect compliment.

Adorable.

Happy Monday.

back in january

I expected this year to be a slower quilting year than 2020; boy was I ever wrong!

I'm actually busier than I was last year, any day now I will actually pass how many quilts I quilted in 2020.

And it's August.

I surpassed 2019 October 2020.

 Crazy.

So, how about some quilts?

Joan made this absolutely adorable quilt for her grandson.

quilt monday

How is it already the second week of August?

And yes, I know I say that pretty much every summer lol.

We've been camping a lot. Like lots. Currently on a 4week trip; but close enough to home that we'll be commuting for work for 3 weeks.

Still worth it.

As a result, I've been doing littler quilts(I have some bigger ones almost ready to show!). I do love how quickly they finish up though.

A friends daughter just turned 16 and wants to become an esthetician and I knew I had the perfect gift for her.

I literally made this the night before and
was finishing the binding as we drove to the party lol.

It is super cute and such a fun gift.

I used some grunge for the polish, the rest is all kona.
And even better, it was all from my stash.

I've made this before and quilted a grid on it.
This time I kept it extra simple and went with a stipple.
Can never go wrong with that.

And a fun polka dot for the backing.

Happy Monday.
