quilt monday

I made up these two cuties for Rising Mama Collective

I was originally going to keep one for a store sample  but I decided to donate it as well.

I adore these Riley Blake prints.  It is so adorable.

I used one of my favourite speedy baby quilt patterns, Little Man by Simplify.

As always, a soft flannel for the backing.

quilted with Surf's Up

The quilts almost have a beachy theme, I felt the quilting pattern was perfect for these.

Adorable!

Happy Monday!

quilt monday

I bought the fabric for this quilt back in 2021. Turns out I didn't buy enough and it took a few months to find more of the floral print.

Once I finished the quilt, I didn't love it. It sat for months while I decided what to do with it.

Last fall, an idea came to me.

I turned the quilt from a king size to a queen size, using the leftover blocks as part of the backing fabric. And this is the result.

I think what threw me off with this was the brown chain. I had really wanted to go with a black or charcoal and it just didn't work with the floral.

I had thought of staying traditional and quilting this with a feather or a floral, but I went on a whim and quilted it with one of my favourites, Malachite.

I used a ivory and pink print for the backing and with the extra blocks added in, I think it made it extra special.

I ended up giving the quilt to my sister in law. I had made her a quilt years ago and it was long past time that she received a grown up one.

Happy Monday!

quilt monday

Does anyone else find making baby quilts addicting? I love how quickly I can put one together. With all the fun kids prints out there now, the possibilities are endless.  And because we had all boys, making girl quilts is my favourite.

For this one, I dug deep into my stash and found this adorable bug print. I love the combination of pink and yellow, which I was also able to dig out of my stash.

I knew I wanted to do a plus quilt so I was ready to go.

How cute is this print?

I wanted to keep the quilting soft so I went with a favourite oldie, Cotton Candy.

My stash of kids flannel was getting low so I had to get creative with the quilt batting.

I think it was a good choice.

So cute.

Happy Monday.
