quilt monday

I bet you thought I forgot didn't you ;) Busy day today, my baby turned 8 *sob*. Time goes by way too quickly! Filled my day with doing his cake, making homemade lasagna(been way too long since I've done that. and oh sooooo yummy!). Birthday treats to school, grocery shopping and music lessons and the day is almost done!



I quilted this before I went to Quilts Canada thinking I could get the binding on during the show. As you can see, that didn't happen!





I custom quilted this; echoed each bird block and than meandered in the blocks. I matched all the threads to the fabrics even. And I just realized how small the blocks look in the picture; they are actually 19.5inch blocks. If I remember right, the quilt measures around 55 inches square.

I love how it turned out. The birds do have eyes but I'm thinking of using buttons instead; will decide once I get the binding done.
