this old quilt

Jim's grandma gave me this quilt a few years ago. It has been pieced by hand. I have no idea what to do with it. I'm currently trying to discover who in Jim's family made it(i think it was his dad's great grandma)

It is so typical of the quilts made in the 1920s and 30s in this area. They just loved pink and green together. Back in the 1970s & 80s you could find pieces of pink & green painted furniture on the curbside for the trash. If you stripped off the paint there was either golden oak or mahogany wood underneath. Now those were the days of great trash "shopping"!

It's beautiful! I remember my Grandma crocheting in pink and green :-)

Oh, that's one of my favorite patterns! How special to have an "original" - and what a happy looking quilt!

And here I thought tis version of the nine patch was a contemporary design. It is pretty and I guess it is up to you to hand quilt it now!

What beautiful colours... that must've been a LOT of work to do that by hand.
