special deliveries

I got the binding finished on 4 baby quilts

and delivered them to Rising Mama Collective.

And got another one ready for quilting.

And signed up for a Quilt Along through The Blanket Statement.

I'm using the new line Cider from Basic Grey. Love it!

It's been a good week!

quilt monday

 Hellooooooooo.

Happy New Year! Can I still say that if it is February?

We started off 2021 in a big way with a massive renovation that has taken over our entire house so not a lot of sewing has been happening here. But I got a lot of projects finished up over the holidays so I still have lots to show you.

Starting off with this cutie for Rising Mama Collective.

I absolutely adored this fabric line.
I bought a FQ stack on a whim and was able to get 3 baby quilts out of it.

I used an old favourite panto, Popcorn
It works with the whimsy of the fabric.

I used a soft mint green grunge of the inner border and the binding.
It was a great addition.

I had just enough of two co-ordinating flannels to make the backing.

And up next,

odds and ends

I've been sneaking in time here and there to finish, and start, new projects.

I'm not making any Christmas presents this year which is weird but it's giving me some time to work on other things :)

I finished another baby quilt. This one is one of my favourites.

I needed it a little larger and had just enough of the grey to give it a bit of length

This next one seemed to take absolutely forever to finish up considering I was just sewing 2.5inch squares together.
I actually started this all the way back in May.

Sorry for the terrible pictures but it was night and I was so excited to have finally finished.
There are just over 1000 2.5inch squares in total.

And just because, I decided to make myself another Christmas quilt.
Can not wait to start on this!

quilt monday

We closed up our trailer for the winter the other day

and I realized I hadn't shared my modern maples quilt.

I wanted to find a fun place to take the pictures and a fun place was found.

I had help with this quilt from my TrueNorthBee members in 2019.
I originally wanted just fall colours but I quickly became addicted to making blocks and all fabrics became fair game.

I wanted to keep the quilting woody so I used the panto Kindling.
I think it was the perfect choice.

One of my favourites

No surprise I backed it with my favourite flannel backing.
And I had just enough of an olive/sage green in my stash for the binding.

These blocks go together ridiculously quickly. I've been thinking of making another for our bed with a dark background.
Interested in making your own? You can find the block instructions here.

Happy Monday.
