this week

Is a super short week; the kids are only in school today and tomorrow. So I'm taking the time off too and planning on spending it with these.

And it's time to start thinking of Christmas(it is only 46 days away!). I picked up some paper last week and some new stamps. Hope to get them done this week. I'll keep you posted.

And I still have these 3 bindings waiting for me; I better get busy.

quilt monday

I think my favorite part is the quilt pattern. I really really love pumpkins.

Quilted with Pumpkin Patch.

It took me forever to get the binding on but I have got to enjoy my pumpkins for a few weeks. Now it's time to start thinking Christmas!

snack saturday

Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookies

If you want to use regular peanut butter, reduce butter by 2 tbsp (30 mL) and brown sugar by 1/4 cup
1/2 cup (125 mL) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup (125 mL) packed brown sugar
1/4 cup (50 mL) granulated sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp (2 mL) vanilla
2/3 cup (150 mL) natural peanut butter
1-1/2 cups (375 mL) all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp (2 mL) baking soda
1/4 tsp (1 mL) salt
1/2 cup (125 mL) grape jelly, (approx)

In large bowl, beat together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla. Beat in peanut butter.

Whisk together flour, baking soda and sa< stir into peanut butter mixture in 2 additions.
Drop by level tablespoonfuls (15 mL), about 2 inches (5 cm) apart, onto greased or parchment paper–lined baking sheets. With floured fork, press each to make crisscross pattern and flatten to 1/2-inch (2 cm) thickness. With back of small spoon, make indent in centre of each; fill each with about 1/2 tsp (2 mL) jelly.

Bake in 350°F (180°C) oven until golden on bottoms and edges are browned, 10 to 12 minutes. Let cool on pans on racks.

it's time

To kick the quilting into high gear with Christmas lurking around the corner. This year, my goal is to have all my customer quilts done and delivered by December 1st. So far it looks like that is going to happen. Fingers crossed!

Heather always gets the neatest fabrics. Heather brought in three matching quilts in October for the Harrison Mills Quilt show. All three quilts were quilted with my current favorite pattern,

Folk Heart, and SoFine thread. The quilts are all basically identical and were so quick and fun to-do.

Look how beautiful the pattern shows up on the backing.

When Heather picked up these, she brought in this beauty. How gorgeous is this fabric?!

Quilted with Camellia.

If you are interested in this quilt, Heather wants to sell it. I just might have to give it a new home ;)

happy birthday

To ME!
Today was my 37th birthday. Yes I said it. And even out loud lol.

The celebrations started last Wednesday with lunch out with my friend Deanna. She took me to my favorite restaurant and we had a lovely time. And she found the perfect card for me.

Yesterday I was treated to aa lovely afternoon at the spa. I had a pedi; Peace on Earth by China Glaze

And a fabulous facial. Love those!

Cindy made me this fabulous scarf,

Jill gave me these goodies and made the lovely card. Than she treated Cindy and I to lunch at our favorite place. We really do need our own parking spots there ;)

Dinner out with the family tonight; so good!

And home for presents. I was really spoiled this year.
