odds and ends

I've been sneaking in time here and there to finish, and start, new projects.

I'm not making any Christmas presents this year which is weird but it's giving me some time to work on other things :)

I finished another baby quilt. This one is one of my favourites.

I needed it a little larger and had just enough of the grey to give it a bit of length

This next one seemed to take absolutely forever to finish up considering I was just sewing 2.5inch squares together.
I actually started this all the way back in May.

Sorry for the terrible pictures but it was night and I was so excited to have finally finished.
There are just over 1000 2.5inch squares in total.

And just because, I decided to make myself another Christmas quilt.
Can not wait to start on this!

quilt monday

We closed up our trailer for the winter the other day

and I realized I hadn't shared my modern maples quilt.

I wanted to find a fun place to take the pictures and a fun place was found.

I had help with this quilt from my TrueNorthBee members in 2019.
I originally wanted just fall colours but I quickly became addicted to making blocks and all fabrics became fair game.

I wanted to keep the quilting woody so I used the panto Kindling.
I think it was the perfect choice.

One of my favourites

No surprise I backed it with my favourite flannel backing.
And I had just enough of an olive/sage green in my stash for the binding.

These blocks go together ridiculously quickly. I've been thinking of making another for our bed with a dark background.
Interested in making your own? You can find the block instructions here.

Happy Monday.

oh baby

I've been working double time on getting as many baby quilts made as I can lately.

I love how quickly you can assemble one. Almost instant gratification!

Here are a few I've finished recently.

This is one of my favourite baby quilt patterns.
It takes just 4 FQs and a wee bit of yardage and in no time flat, baby quilt.

I used a FQ stack of this line and ended up with three quilts. Yay!

I did each quilt a wee bit different. These first two are lovely soft pastels.

Those Grunge borders. Love

This last one turned out even better than I expected.
Such gorgeous fabrics.

And you knew I was going to do a chevron quilt ;)

And started on another.

quilt monday

I have a real love for chevron quilts. And chevron baby quilts?

Yes please! I've made so many of these out of the same fabrics that I had enough leftover hsts to make this little table runner.

I love the simplicity of the colours with the pattern.
It makes it so much more striking.

I kept the quilting simple and did a stipple.

That subtle grey print.

I loooooooooved these fabrics.
I finished of the bolt on both and used up every single piece.

Simple muslin on the backing.
It looks so crisp and fresh.

And just because, one of the baby quilts.

Happy Monday!

quilt monday

 Short and sweet today.

I was going through the pictures on my computer(I've filled the memory again) and realized I hadn't shown this picture from last Christmas.

My favourite print and my favourite quilt block
and a cute little table runner

I kept the quilting really simple and went with a meander.

I wish I could remember what line this print was from.
I bought it a few years ago on an after Christmas sale and snatched up the rest of the bolt.

I also used one of my favourite blenders for the backing.

I only have one planned project for Christmas.
And it's a Tshirt quilt so I really need to get started on it.

Happy Monday!
