Christmas past

Was looking through my client quilt pictures and realized I hadn't blogged some extra special Christmas quilts.

This first one was pieced by Janice; I love this quilt.

Janice didn't want any quilting on the pieced sections of the blocks, just to keep the quilting simple.
I went with a simple stipple in the block backgrounds.

This block cracks me up

Next, this gorgeous McKenna Ryan quilt by Sharon.

So many pieces!!

I did a lot of stippling, echoing, and ditching. A lot of ditching.

I did a ribbon stitch in the inner border and ditched the outer one.

Very fun!

Lastly, this embroidery quilt for Hamels Quilt Store

The center tree, it took 8hours for the piecer to trace it out. In total, she was at over 30hours of time with the embroidery alone.

I darkened some of the pictures so you can see the details easier.

Hamels didn't want any quilting on the embroidery so I went with a somewhat tight stipple to get the embroidery to pop.

This block. Love.

The borders were going to be scalloped after quilting so I kept it simple and went with beadboard quilting.

And the tree

Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of fullness in the block so I had to make my stipple more of a meander to get it all squished in.
I also did some quilting in all the 'snow' on the tree.

The kit can be purchased here; if you hurry, maybe you can finish it for this Christmas!
