It's good to be home! I do wish the 31*C plus weather came with us though. We had a crazy, fun adventure. Jim asked me back in June if I wanted to tag along to Miami for a conference he had to go to. Um, yes! So we planned that. Than the trip exploded into more.
We ended up leaving 2 days earlier than planned to go to Tulsa Oklahoma for Jim to wrap up a project he had been working on. Getting there was crazy as a huge storm hit Dallas and all the flights in and out were cancelled; we almost didn't make it.
While we were there, we spent one day driving along Route66-so fun! We ended up playing along there in 3 different states this year-Arizona, California and now Oklahoma.
After Tulsa, it was off to Miami Beach. We stayed in a stunning resort right on the beach in North Beach-I almost didn't want to leave. 3 days of doing nothing but laying on the beach; it was heaven.
Once the conference ended, the real fun began. We drove down to Key West for a few days-I highly, highly! recommenced NOT going to Key West during Halloween. There are some things your mind can just not unsee lol!
We escaped Key West (lol) and went up to FtLauderdale. We did an Everglades tour(so fun!) and played around and got ready for the other half of our adventure. When Jim said Miami back in June, I thought cruise and as luck had it, I found one.
We boarded Independence of the Seas and spent a week floating around the Caribbean. We ported in Haiti, Jamaica and Grand Cayman.
Now we are home, attempting to get our land legs back and get over the jet lag. And I'm pretty sure we are traveled out for the year. We visited 7 new states this year(for me and the kids, Jim had been to them all before) and 3 new countries.
So for today,
it is good to be home.
