no quilt monday today
As it was #3's birthday and spent the day celebrating. I will have a quilt for you tomorrow though!
Here is the card I made for B last week at card club
easy raspberry trifle
1 box Betty Crocker® white angel food cake mix
1 1/4cups cold water
2 cups boiling water
1 box (8-serving size) sugar-free raspberry-flavored gelatin
2 packages (10 oz each) frozen sweetened raspberries, thawed
3 containers (6 oz each) Yoplait® Original red raspberry yogurt
Directions
1. Move oven rack to lowest position (remove other racks). Heat oven to 350°F.
2. In extra-large glass or metal bowl, beat cake mix and cold water on low speed 30 seconds; beat on medium speed 1 minute. Pour into ungreased 10-inch angel food (tube) cake pan. Do not use fluted tube cake pan or 9-inch angel food (tube) cake pan, or batter will overflow.
3. Bake 37 to 47 minutes or until top is dark golden brown and cracks feel very dry and not sticky. Do not underbake.
4. Immediately turn pan upside down onto glass bottle until cake is completely cool, about 1 hour. Run knife around edges; remove from pan. Tear cake into about 3/4-inch pieces.
5. Pour boiling water on gelatin in large bowl; stir until gelatin is dissolved. Add raspberries. (If desired, remove several raspberries and reserve for garnish.) Refrigerate gelatin mixture about 15 minutes or until thickened but not set.
6. Layer half each of the cake pieces, gelatin mixture and yogurt in 3-quart glass bowl; repeat. Garnish with reserved raspberries. Refrigerate at least 2 hours until firm. Cover and refrigerate any remaining dessert.
one more day
and it's summer holidays! woo hoo! Our youngest, M, he graduated from Kindergarten today(and yes I cried!) Our oldest, A, he wrote his last exam last Wednesday so he's been out for a week already. J, our second, he left Tuesday night with his best friend's family for a camping trip so only B will be going to school tomorrow and we are done done done!
These are the 2 other teacher cards I made this year. I really love this Bella
And the winner of June's Tempting Tuesday is Jennifer from Olde Towne Quiltery Please send me your mailing info Jennifer and which card you would like. Thanx for playing everyone!
tempting tuesday!
i had so hoped
that I could finish my Bistro quilt for the quilt challenge, but it won't happen. I went to buy some fabric for the borders and this Moda line isn't available for sale until Fall!(except for charm squares and jelly rolls that is) The pattern calls for a piano key border using the remaining jelly roll strips but I want a solid border *sigh*
But now I can get started on B's quilt for his birthday(which is next week lol!!)

Cindy's Bramble Rose quilt
Check out Cindy's pictures on her blog as well. She added pearl buttons to the flower than washed the quilt to get the raw edge appliqué to fray. I love how this turned out, and it wasn't nearly has hard as I thought it would be
the 90 minute quilt
and first one in the quilting challenge. In all honesty, this quilt was soooooo simple, it shouldn't even count! I literally pieced it in 90minutes(maybe even less) The blocks were all previously cut. A dear cousin is turning 40 this weekend and loves to nap-what could be more perfect than a snuggly flannel quilt?
Happy Father's Day
a quilting challenge
Peg at Happy in Quilting has issued the challenge of 5 quilt tops(flimsies) to be completed by July 31st(of this year lol!!) I signed up, how about you?
snack saturday
Summery Strawberry Tiramisu
Ingredients
* 6 cups (1.5 L) strawberries (about 11/2 lb/750 g)
* 3/4 cup (175 mL) granulated sugar
* 1/4 cup (50 mL) orange juice
* 1 pkg (250 g) light cream cheese, at room temperature
* 1 can (425 g) custard
* 1 cup (250 mL) whipping cream
* 1 298-g frozen pound cake, thawed
* 1/2cup (125 mL) mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
1. Rinse strawberries in a colander and remove stalks. Finely chop strawberries and place in a medium bowl. Stir in 1/4 cup (50 mL) sugar and all the orange juice; set aside.
2. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and remaining sugar until smooth. Then beat in custard until smooth.
3. In another large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat whipping cream just until fluffy (when you lift the beaters, the pointy bits of cream should stay straight up). Gently stir whipped cream into cream cheese mixture; cover and refrigerate.
4. Cut cake into 3H x 1 x H-inch (9 x 2.5 x 1-cm) strips and arrange side by side on bottom of a 13 x 9-inch (3-L) shallow dish. Top with strawberry mixture. Sprinkle half the chocolate chips over strawberries, then top with cream cheese mixture and remaining chocolate chips. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 24 hours.

I did this quilt for my friend Cindy today. She's putting the binding on right now. Once she gets it finished, I'll share the rest of it
imagine my surprise
that this background paper is the reverse side of the card I posted below?
and I finally used my nestabilities
and I finally used my nestabilities
oh baby
I cheated with this one. The fabric is a pre-pieced fabric. I added a snuggly flannel to the back and quilted it with daisies galore
