something new
I have some longarm clients who have been keeping me very busy.
So I thought the best way to show off their quilts would be to showcase them one at a time.
Today is all about Shirley.
Shirley is the aunt of one of my neighbours and quickly became one of my favourite clients.
Shirley used to foster and makes numerous quilts for all her children and various grands.
Like this cutie.

quilt monday
If you saw my post from a few weeks back, you shouldn't be surprised that I did not wait long to get this beauty quilted.
I LOVE this quilt.
L-O-V-E love.
I actually didn't plan on making the stars. But then I didn't cut out the extra background pieces and found this scrap of Kona which was perfect.
I struggled with how to quilt this; especially with the colours.
Go with light thread and have it stand out on the dark or go dark and have it stand out on the light?
I actually started quilting it in a dark grey with a totally different pattern.
Which I quickly ripped out.
The background is an ivory.
I had the perfect brown based black print for binding.
I made this for my niece's wedding.
She's almost as Disneyland crazy as me.
I used a flannel as the backing; it's the perfect lap quilt.
And now I need to make one for myself!
Happy Monday :)
