A friend of mine loves cardinals. When I saw this pattern in a quilt magazine, I knew it was the perfect gift for her. The only change I made was to make it a wall hanging instead of a pillow.
I think it's super cute. I left the quilt simple and just went around the applique and in the ditch. I love how the background fabric makes it look stormy.
It is a wonderful little wall quilt!! I love Cardinals too. We don't have them up here in Manitoba, though I did see a few when visiting Lake of the Ozarks last Spring!!
