quilt monday

I made this quilt months ago. When I went looking for the post, I was surprised that it was all the way back in May.

The quilt has been quilted and hung on the wall. It's been up a few weeks and just recently I noticed something.

Do you see it? Because it took weeks before I did.
Those two hsts are turned the wrong way!!

This quilt hung for weeks on the design wall. I posted pics on Instagram and never noticed. Now it's quilted and eek!

I did debate taking off the binding, picking out the quilting and fixing the blocks. But nope, it's staying this way.

I just might even enter it our quilt show next month!

one of my favorite things

to make is baby quilts. I love how fun baby/child prints are. And how fast a baby quilt goes together. Here's 3 recent finishes.

I found this charm square package hidden away and the green polka dots match it really well.

I actually made two of these. This one I made bigger; adding the side borders. This is one of my favorite baby quilts from the book Simplify.

When I heard that Hooty Hoot was coming back, I called my LQS and told them to let me know asap when it was in. Just too cute! It's going to be hard to let this one go.

How cute are these owls?

Now I just need to find some babies to give these too lol.

quilt monday

I have quickly become addicted to Twister rulers. I posted about a quilt I was doing using Hometown; well, I finally got it quilted.

When I bought the layer cake, I foolishly didn't buy any yardage but was lucky enough to find this blue polka dot that matched the line fairly well.

I ended up quilting this with the Circle Lord swirls template. I love how the quilting works with the spinning of the blocks.

Now I really wish I had more of this line hoarded away!

customized

I've quilted some fun and amazing custom quilts lately.
Time for a little show and tell!

Audrey did this maple quilt.

I did a continuous curve in the light triangles,

I stippled around the maple leaves.

Cheryl from Country Quilts sent these cute quilts.

Cheryl wanted the quilting kept simple; mostly stippling and a bit of outlining. Cheryl blogged about this quilt here.

I love the cat!

Bonnie's lovely Asian fan quilt.

More stippling and I quilted lines on the fans.

Margaret made this stunning applique quilt. I quilted a tight stipple around the applique and did piano keys in the border.

Joyce made this stunning crane quilt.

I water-stitched around all the cranes in black thread and again using gold in the four patches and triangles. The border I did piano keys.

Simply stunning!

Speaking of stunning, Marie was invited to a wedding and she created this quilt from the wedding invitation.

I quilted lines and whirls in the wood background to make it look more woody.

I added a few stetson boots as well.

I left the appliques and the lace strips alone.

Lastly, this amazing quilt by Martha. Martha embroidered the wreaths on muslin years ago and decided it was time to finish the quilt.

Because the quilt is made with muslin, it is very hard to see the details.

I did a wreath to compliment the embroidery.

And more feathered wreaths in the borders

Martha has an antique iron bed she is displaying the quilt on. Lovely!
Now it's time to quilt some more!
